Gloucester Rugby stars join England’s Six Nations squad

Two Gloucester Rugby stars have been named as part of England’s squad for this year’s Six Nations championships.

Not one but two of Gloucester Rugby’s players have been chosen to be part of England’s Six Nations team this year. The Head Coach of England’s national rugby team, Eddie Jones, announced his team this morning with Gloucester players, Jonny May and Mark Atkinson being chosen as backs for the tournament.

The two join 34 other English rugby stars including the likes of Ben Youngs, Courtney Lawes and Kyle Sinckler for the annual international men’s rugby union competition.

This morning’s announcement also saw Owen Farrell named as England’s captain for the championships, while team vice captains will be announced ahead of each match.

The thirty-six-member squad will meet in Brighton on Monday 24 January for a five-day training camp, before regathering at Pennyhill Park ahead of their first game against Scotland at Murrayfield, on Saturday 5 February.

All of England’s matches are on ITV, except for Scotland v England which is on BBC.  Radio commentary for all games will be on BBC Radio 5 Live.
