Ten classic songs to listen to this lockdown

What better way to get through lockdown than by listening to ten of the greatest songs to ever exist. Music is something that transcends borders, and is a universal language. That is what makes it so great.

Without further ado, let’s jump straight into songs you must listen to this lockdown.

  1. Bon Jovi – Have A Nice Day
A song about living life your way, this upbeat Bon Jovi song is a perfect start to this list. It’s lively, and will get you off your feet and maybe dancing around the house!
  1. Frank Sinatra – My Way

Funnily enough, here’s another song about living life your own way. This classic song by the legend Frank Sinatra, is another perfect song to add to your playlist. His voice is simply perfect for this song.

  1. Coolio – Gangsta’s Paradise
We’ve gone forward in time here. This time to the 90’s. Gangsta’s Paradise is the greatest rap song. Much better than that rubbish nowadays. The beat is great, the lyrics are great, and the story is great. What more could you want from a rap song?
  1. Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons – Beggin’
We’re going to the sixties now, with Beggin’. This song was really ahead of its time, which is what make it so great. It’s about a man who went from being a success, to losing it all and wishing for the love from his partner… or more than likely, ex-partner! An amazing song, and another that makes me want to dance!
  1. Genesis – Jesus He Knows Me
Quite an interesting song here. Jesus He Knows Me is a song that attacks televangelists, and preachers who use the name of Jesus to get money out of people. A really unique song, that is great to listen to. The music video accompanying it too is brilliant!
  1. Robert Tepper – No Easy Way Out
Best known for being in one of the greatest films ever: Rocky IV, Robert Tepper’s No Easy Way Out will motivate you to do something productive during the lockdown. Work, exercise, maybe even meditate! This song is just perfect for that.
  1. Michael Jackson – Billie Jean
Probably the most popular artist (and song) in this list. Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean is classic 80’s. He was one of the first artists to use the concept of a ‘music video’ to describe a story, and here, you can really see its use.
  1. Elvis Presley – Can’t Help Falling In Love
An amazing song. It’s as simple as that. It’s a love song, sung by Elvis Presley. What more could you want?
  1. Hall and Oates – Out of Touch
This is the most 80’s song you will ever hear, and it is truly perfect. Words cannot describe how amazing this song is.
  1. Europe – The Final Countdown
We couldn’t end this top ten list without including the ultimate finale song – The Final Countdown. I don’t even know where to start with this. It’s just too good! Take a listen, and you’ll know what I mean.
