Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson has described the Robin’s defeat to Reading as “careless and very, very disappointing,” in his post-match press conference on Saturday.
A goal from Mamadou Loum put the Royals in front early on in the second half before a late Andy Carroll goal sealed the win for Reading.
“It was miles away from what the same players dished up in midweek. You can quantify that, not me.
“All I’m going to say is it’s really disappointing that when naming an unchanged side because the players deserve to play again, they don’t perform,” said Pearson.
The game marked the second loss in three games for City, who are currently thirteenth in the Championship table after seventeen games.
Pearson was very unhappy on the touchline during the loss, not afraid to share his feelings about the performance with his players.
“I was telling them to just move the ball quickly. The tempo with which we pass the ball against a side like Reading who aren’t really one of the pressing sides, but they pressed well against us today because we dwelt on the ball for so long and we were reluctant to make positive decisions.
“It was a frustrating day, very frustrating,” revealed Pearson.
City’s next game is against Swansea City in the EFL Championship on Saturday the 29th of October at 3:00pm.
