Gloucester hooker Jack Singleton was one of three players called up to Eddie Jones’ training squad following the withdrawal of Jamie George, Guy Porter and Jack Walker through injury.
Adam Radwan and George Mcguigan have also joined the squad as Eddie Jones builds towards the Autumn Internationals where they will face Argentina, Japan , New Zealand and current World Champions South Africa.
Singleton, 26, was part of the 2019 World Cup Squad but was unused throughout the tournament and has made only two appearances for the senior side both coming against the Barbarians.
However, the front-rower has been impressive throughout his time at Gloucester where he scored eight tries in the Gallagher Premiership last season as the Cherry and Whites narrowly missed out on the play-offs.
Jamie George and Luke-Cowan Dickie have often been ahead of Singleton in the national pecking order with the latest injury to British and Irish Lion George possibly aiding the Gloucester hooker as he looks to force his way into Eddie Jones’ plans ahead of the Autumn Internationals and further down the line for the World Cup in 2023.
