Wasps Holdings Limited – the company that owns Wasps Rugby club – has been placed into administration this afternoon.
The club released a statement on their website confirming the company have now “ceased to trade.”
“The affairs, business and property of the Company are being managed by Andrew Martin Sheridan and Rajnesh Mittal of FRP who were appointed Joint Administrators.
“The Joint Administrators act as agents of the Company and without personal liability.
“Please note that Arena Coventry Limited and IEC Experience Limited, which operate the businesses at arena in Coventry, are not in Administration and continue to trade as normal.”
The six-time Premiership Rugby champions have made 167 staff members redundant, including the entire playing staff.
This includes Jack Willis, who just this morning was announced as part of England’s squad ahead of the Autumn Internationals.
The Wasps’ fixtures were suspended by The Rugby Football Union on October 12.
Gloucester are not due to play Wasps until April 2023, having beaten them 27-21 in September.
