Charlie Brown has said he jumped at the prospect of signing for Cheltenham Town after hearing of interest from the Gloucestershire outfit.
The former Chelsea youngster signed for the Robins on Thursday having already made five League One appearances this season for MK Dons.
After signing a deal until the end of next season, Brown spoke on the move and how he’s found life with Cheltenham Town so far.
“I was really excited. For me it happened really quickly, it was all done within 24 to 48 hours. So as soon as I heard Cheltenham were interested and I could come here, I was straight there.
“It’s been really good. The lads have been brilliant with me since the moment I came in.
“There’s quite a few new boys in at the moment so we’re all settling in getting to know everyone and training’s been great.”
With Kyle Joseph returning to Swansea City after his loan and the departure of Kyle Vassell, Cheltenham were looking light on the attacking front.
But Brown has come in to bolster those options at the top end of the field and gave a little inkling into the type of player he is.
“I’ll always be in the box in between the two posts. I’m a poacher. So, I’m looking to get goals in the six-yard box, that’s my main trait.”
Brown came straight into Michael Duff’s squad and was on the bench for the 1-1 draw against Burton Albion at the weekend.
Duff is certainly a well-respected manager in the English footballing scene, which certainly helps the Robins from a transfers perspective.
The former Union Saint-Gilloise loanee had heard good things about Duff and his coaching team which added further intrigue to the completed move.
“I didn’t speak to him loads before I came but I’d heard a lot of good things about him from people I know in the game.
“I heard about other coaching staff here as well and all of them to be fair have been a big influence.”
The 22-year-old striker became Duff’s third signing of the January transfer window joining Ben Williams and Dan Nlundulu through the door.
Albeit at different times, both Nlundulu and Brown played in the Chelsea academy set-up and know each other already.
And Brown is now looking forward to the prospect of sharing a pitch with the fellow attacker.
“It’s been good, I knew him previously, you cross paths with a lot of people in football so me and Dan (Nlundulu) know each other.
“It’s been good to catch up with him and hopefully I can play with him soon on the pitch.”
The Robins are in action at The Jonny-Rocks Stadium once again this weekend as they take on Charlton Athletic in GL52.
Cheltenham were victorious in the reverse fixture earlier on this season as they defeated the Addicks 2-1 in what was a brilliant away performance at the Valley.
Brown had his say on the upcoming League One clash and what his side have to do to try and get all three points.
“We’ll just focus on ourselves. We believe in the ability we’ve got here.

“We’ll just go in, work as hard as we can do what we’ve been doing in training, try and put it into practice on matchday and hopefully it’ll be enough for us.”
Brown will now be hoping to get his first minutes for the Robins this weekend and begin what he was brought to Cheltenham to do, get goals.
