Chelsea have officially announced that Striker Joao Felix will be joining the club on a 6-month loan from Atletico Madrid.
The forward has scored five goals in 20 matches for the Spanish side this season, as well as enjoying a successful World Cup where he scored one goal and assisted twice, before Portugal were knocked out by Morocco.
The 23-year-old has signed for a fee of around €11 million (£9.7 million), as well as it being rumoured that Todd Boehly’s Blues will also be paying 100% of the Portuguese’s wages during this period.
Felix earns over £250.000 a week.
Felix spoke to the Chelsea website earlier today, where he mentioned this: “Chelsea is one of the great teams in the world and I hope to help the team reach their objectives, so I am very, very happy to be here and very excited to play at Stamford Bridge.”
It’s possible that the loanee could debut at Fulham Thursday evening, as he has theoretically been registered in time. He will wear #11 during his time at the club.
As well as this Felix has extended his deal with the Madrid side until 2027.
