University cricket club hoping to create Movember Mo-ments this month

This Tuesday saw the start of Movember with plenty of fundraisers being held across the country to raise money and awareness for various causes. Men’s health is the primary focus and the University of Gloucestershire Cricket Club have started their own Movember campaign. The club will be updating the world on their journey on Instagram @uogcricket where there is a link to donate.

They started with a fancy dress run through Gloucester on Wednesday starting at Plock Court, passing the Gloucester Grill then back to Oxstalls Campus. They have plenty more events planned over the course of the month, including a pool tournament and a couple of tri-series events versus UoG Hockey.

The squad shaved clean at the start of the month as part of their campaign, some members were more affected than others. Second year student, Owen Parker decided to shave his head to make up for his lack of facial hair, showing there’s many ways, you can show support!

One of the biggest plans the club has is to have a huge darts event in the lecture hall at Park Campus, hoping for a big crowd and a great night of entertainment for the spectators. There is no guarantee of good darts being played but an aim to raise a lot of money for charity.
