From coaching at Hartpury College to being first team coach at AFC Bournemouth via Liverpool and Manchester City – Story of Tim Jenkins

Tim Jenkins joined AFC Bournemouth in December of 2022 as he joined Gary O’Neil’s backroom staff as a first team coach after beginning his coaching journey at Hartpury College.

Before joining The Cherries, he was at Liverpool U18’s where he joined them back in the 2020/21 season.

His story began back in 2001 as when he was working as an analyst at Derby County under Jim Smith, John Gregory and George Burley.

It would be two years later that Jenkins moved to Gloucestershire, to begin his coaching adventure as he was given the junior academy manager role at Hartpury College in 2003.

As well as this academy role Jenkins was given the role of reserve team coach for the Blue Square Premier side at the time Forest Green Rovers, who are now in League One.

After this

Whilst he was at the college, Jenkins guided them to four national titles and also having the achievement of developing a World Cup appearance member in Abdul Majeed Waris, who represented Ghana in the 2010 World Cup.

Jenkins originally made the made to Liverpool in 2012 where he initially came in as the head of analysis in the academy and most commonly working with the U23’s.

Liverpool then would give Jenkins more experience alongside Neil Critchley and his under-23 side.

Jenkins helped guide the likes of Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones, Ben Woodburn, Rhian Brewster and many more youngsters through the academy before making his big move down south in order to gain much more of major role within the coaching department.
