Cirencester Town Development play host to Long Crendon in crucial Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One fixture

The games keep coming for managerless Cirencester Town Development as they host Long Crendon tonight at The Corinium Stadium.

Both sides have played 14 league games but have experienced differing fortunes as the seven combined wins between the sides all belong to Long Crendon.

They are sat in ninth on 23 points with seven wins, two draws and five defeats.

Whilst Cirencester are rooted to the bottom with a -59-goal difference with 14 defeats from 14 and their only wins of the season have come on penalties in the Bluefin Sports (UHL) Challenge Cup.

One of those wins came away to Chipping Sodbury on Saturday but they have suffered defeat in the preceding four games conceding 18 goals in the process.

The Centurions have only found the net 10 times in the league with Jake Allen being the sole player to score more than once in the league with four goals.

Long Crendon didn’t play at the weekend but lost 3-1 away to Cheltenham Saracens the week before after picking up consecutive wins against Stonehouse Town and Calne Town, which followed a defeat and a draw.

Goals haven’t been hard to come by for them as they are averaging 1.93 goals per game with Oli Lethbridge as their top scorer with seven and James Hawkes and Nathan Simms also having four or more goals.

Hawkes and Lethbridge have also contributed two assists.

A win for either side tonight would see them rise up the table as Long Crendon can go back above Cheltenham Saracens to keep in the hunt for promotion to the Premier Division whilst Cirencester would lift themselves off the bottom in the fight to avoid the drop to the regionalised Division Two.
