As Forest Green went into the new season with a fresh face of Neil Moore they hoped he would be able to take them up a level and reach heights they hadn’t hit before.
But only four months into the job Moore has decided to step down from the job due to ‘other commitments.’
Forest Green sit handsomely in first place after starting the season superbly.
They have just gained back-to-back wins after winning 6-2 and 0-3 over the last two Sundays.
Former Forest Green trainee Holly Rogers, who is now at Worcester City, has said that “it will have a massive impact on the club”.
Holly didn’t sign for Forest Green as she didn’t like the set up but as they sit top of the table, she might be regretting that now.
“Neil was a lovely man and a top manager” stated Holly but due to unknown reasons he has had to leave.
Tom Needham will now be taking on the role of Head Coach and will be supported by David Francis as Assistant Head Coach.
David Hennessy the Head of Women’s Football has said “We are genuinely sad to see Neil go, but we understand his reasons for doing so”.
Needham will now go into the role with high expectations after Neil managed to get them to first place before stepping down.
The team are exceeding expectations and will be hoping to carry on this kind of form.
Rovers currently play in the fourth tier of women’s football.
The next game up is at home to Bristol Rovers and will look to get a bit of a cup run going and will be hoping to be drawn against a team of a higher calibre.
Needham will go into this game with a couple of training sessions under his belt and will look to get the best out of what he has.
