BREAKING: Rotherham United appoint Matt Taylor as new manager

Rotherham United have appointed former Exeter City manager and Cheltenham Town defender Matt Taylor as their new manager following the departure of Paul Warne.

In a since deleted tweet the Exeter City Supporters Trust, who own the football club, announced “We can confirm manager Matt Taylor has left to join Rotherham United. We’d like to put on record our sincere thanks to Matt for his committed and outstanding achievements at Exeter.”

Taylor spent one year at Cheltenham Town and has also had spells at Colchester United, Charlton Athletic and Bradford City.

The move may come as a surprise to some, with Exeter sitting 11 in League One following their fairy-tale promotion from League 2 last season.
