The RFU have banned Diogo Ferreira for 20 weeks after he was found guilty for biting former Gloucester Academy second row and current Hartpury College player, Harry Wilson.
Ferreira, who has been on the books of Sale Sharks and Newcastle Falcons, was found guilty of biting Wilson in the BUCS Super Rugby game between Durham University and Hartpury on November 29.
John Barnes, Hartpury director of rugby, said:
“It was a long process, we are glad that it is now over, and it is good that Harry is back up and playing.
“It is good see that, in our opinion, justice has been done.”
Ferreira was the first Portuguese player to play in the Aviva Premiership, after featuring for Sale Sharks at the end of the 2016/17 season. The 21-year-old prop has since played for Newcastle Falcons in the Premiership A League alongside playing for Durham University.
