Cheltenham’s Bierkeller is to be replaced by an American-themed burger restaurant and cocktail bar.
Moody’s Place already has a restaurant in Swindon, but is set to expand into Cheltenham in early May, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
It will be the second burger restaurant to open in the town in the last year, after Holee Cow opened its doors in November. This will bring the total number of burger joints in the town to six.
Not being funny but when is Cheltenham getting a Burger King again because I have a severe lack of chilli cheese bites in my life ?!

Moody’s Place in Swindon offers a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu as well as cocktails and desserts. It’s likely that their new Cheltenham counterpart will offer some similar choices.
The new addition to Cheltenham was announced on Bierkeller’s Facebook page a couple of weeks ago, and people’s reactions were pretty mixed.
Kayleigh-Ann Allen seemed optimistic and wrote: ‘They have one of these in Swindon, they’re actually pretty reasonably priced and the food is really nice!!’
But Maizey Vizor said: ‘unless they sell steins full of cocktails I’m not interested’.
In a post last month, Bierkeller said that it would be closing immediately and thanked its customers and staff for ‘a fabulous two years.’ It later came out that the business had become unprofitable, despite its continued popularity in the town. Its Tuesday night quizzes were particularly popular with students.
Moody’s Place will provide new jobs for waiting staff, chefs, delivery drivers and bar staff. Their delivery service opens tonight, with the kitchen taking orders for burgers, chicken wings hot dogs and milkshakes.
