Women’s FA Cup First Round Draw – Cheltenham Town and Forest Green Rovers both face trip down south

The Women’s FA Cup First Round was drawn today at 1pm with two local sides involved.

The 56 games will be played on Sunday, 13th November, with many teams yet to have finished their final qualifying round with wide-spread thunderstorms last weekend.

Cheltenham Town Ladies were the last side to be drawn, as they face Plymouth Argyle away from home.

The Robinesses have played Plymouth at the Corinium Stadium this season, winning 3-1 in the second league game of the campaign thanks to goals from Izzy Cook and Jade Grove.

Cheltenham will be making the trip to Plymouth in the league on 8th January.

Forest Green Rovers had their Qualifying Round game against AFC Bournemouth abandoned in the 81st minute while losing 5-1.

Despite the score line, there is a possibility of the Nailsworth club replaying the game, where should they prevail over the strong Bournemouth side, they will be heading even further south west.

Rovers have drawn Exeter City who play in the league below the Gloucestershire side.

The prize money for the competition has been announced, with the winning sides set to receive Β£6,000 and losing sides will still earn Β£1,500.
