Tewkesbury convenience store hit by ram-raiders in early hours

Ram-raiders have destroyed the front of a Costcutter in Tewkesbury.

Police were called to the incident on Monterey Road in Walton Cardiff at 3.20am after a cash machine was ripped out and loaded onto a stolen van.

The cash machine fell from the van during a police pursuit and has since been recovered.

The offenders fled, in what is thought to be an Audi and police are still looking for them. The van that was used during the incident and a stolen Nissan Pathfinder have been recovered too.

One person who posted on social media said: “I was upset to see it as I drove past. It angers me wherever it happens but not on your local shops. I hope they catch them there is CCTV there. I am so sorry for the owner/manager and staff who de not deserve this assault on their livelihoods.”

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote incident 42 of 12 April. Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
