Student Union leaders are meeting tonight to discuss the future of women’s safety in Cheltenham.
SU leaders at the University of Gloucestershire have called a general meeting where women’s safety and sexual harassment on campus will be being discussed.
Emma Milsom, student voice manager at the university, said the meeting this evening will provide a platform for students to discuss and vote on the issue around training for staff and students relating to Women+ Safety and sexual harassment as brought forward by UOG Student.

Holly Janem, a student at the university of Gloucestershire, created a ‘glosnightin’ account for the university, after noticing there was no page for them for the boycott of clubs that happened October 25th.
“Although it’s a small uni, it isn’t indifferent to the bigger ones when it comes to spiking… so I decided to start the account to raise awareness.”
Even though clubs were still busy on the planned boycott night, Janem isn’t worried.
“I don’t feel too bad because I think the awareness still got around, and the boycott was just a way to raise awareness, no matter how it went on the night”.
“You can’t stop people from going out… nut clubs need to be more transparent about what happens on nights out.”

The young woman hopes the meeting tonight will continue the woman’s safety motion forward, and that they gain the student unions support to get the Cheltenham night life safer, and help women feel more at ease.
Chloe Hall, is one of many young women who believes she has previously been spiked.
The 19-year-old was left “unable to walk” after what started as a normal night out last summer.
Chloe’s, friends at the time hoped to assume she’d drank too much, but after realising how out of character her behaviour was, it left them “incredibly worried” for future nights out, and sadly learnt how easy it is to happen to anyone.
“I remember none of the details, not even of the entire day. I look at photos from the night and it’s terrifying for me as there is no life in my eyes”.
