Slimbridge end seven game winless run with win over strugglers Lymington

Slimbridge AFC recorded their first win since September as they beat Lymington Town 1-0 at Thornhill Park on Saturday afternoon.

Jack Holmes’ first half strike gave the Swans a first-half lead for the third week in a row as the midfielder crept into the box and slammed his shot home from a corner.

The second-half told a different story, with Lymington looking to climb their way out of the relegation zone, as the Linnets turned on the pressure and almost equalised with a late free-kick effort.

The Slimbridge defence held firm to record their third clean sheet of the season and climb above Larkhall Athletic, into 17th in the Southern League Division One South table, and will face Bideford AFC at Thornhill Park next on Saturday.
