Table topping Cinderford Rugby remain focused ahead of the biggest two weekends of their season so far.
On Saturday afternoon the Forest side face Redingensian Rams at Dockham road. The Rams currently sit third in the league but find themselves 16 points behind Cinderford. A win for the home side could create more than a 20 point gap between the two sides, something Director of Rugby, Paul Morris, is all too aware of.
“It would be a long way back for them if we can beat them but they’ll be fighting extra hard to stay in the hunt. They’ll be coming full bore at us and we’ll be doing just the same back”
Despite the gap between the two sides currently, the reverse fixture saw Cinderford win 37-36 in a tough encounter.
Following on from the game against Redingensian, Cinderford face Oxford based side Chinnor.
Chinnor find themselves four points behind the Dockham Road side, but will prove to be a tough side with former Gloucester fly-half Jonny Bentley taking the reigns at 10.
“The adrenaline is certainly flowing ahead of this one and the excitement is building because it is a big game”.
Gloucestershire Rugby side performing well
Gloucestershire will become the strongest rugby county in England if Cinderford get promoted.
With Gloucester and Hartpury College all but assured of their places in the Premiership and the Championship respectively, should the Forest side get promoted, Gloucestershire would have a side in each of the three top leagues of English Rugby.
