University of Gloucestershire’s E-Sports Manager Ben Solomons will be busking with a flute on Cheltenham High Street this Saturday in order to raise money to support Movember.
The entire E-Sports society has gotten behind him in support and have even decided the songs that he will be playing via a collaborative Spotify playlist.
“Movember is a leading global charity that supports men’s health including prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health.
“One man dies to suicide every minute and in the UK, three fourths of suicides are men.
“This is not ok, this is why Movember is so important to me.”
Ben says that he never wants anyone to have to go through what he has without support.
“Recently my mental health lead me to a place I’d wish no one else, all money raised helps save men from dying too young which is why I’m doing what I can to help.”
Ben has stated he will also be growing out his moustache after shaving at the beginning of November to further support the cause and raise awareness of Movember.
The E-Sports Society isn’t alone in their support of Movember, the other sports societies around the University have also been doing their part to raise awareness.
“This is my first year raising money for Movember as I have recently been made more aware of the problems that men face with both mental and physical health.
“I want to do whatever I can to help and wish to do so in the future too.”
Ben’s flute busking will take place at 14:00 GMT, this Saturday, 19 November.
