Top-of-the-table Bishop’s Cleeve take on Hereford Lads club this Saturday in the UHLSport Hellenic League.
Bishop’s Cleeve enter the tie riding on a wave of form having not lost in 14 games in the league, their most recent win being an eight-nil demolition of Chipping Sodbury Town, so manager Paul Collicut will be hoping his men can continue their run of results.
Speaking after the Chipping Sodbury Town victory. Collicut seemed very happy with his team’s performance. ‘We’ve played some good football today, especially in the first half, we got a little bit sloppy which does happen but it’s very very difficult to knock when you’ve just gone and scored eight goals.’
Scoring eight goals is always a good way to boost confidence, and Collicut’s men will surely be encouraged by these recent performances heading into the Hereford game. A win on Saturday would see Bishop’s Cleeve go seven points clear of second-place Cribbs FC and with half the season gone, they will surely be confident of securing promotion to the 8th tier of English Football.
Hereford have had a mixed bag of results so far this season and currently stand eleventh in the league. Having lost their previous game 2-1 against Shrivenham, manager Danny Moon will be hoping for an inspiring performance from his players to help them kick on for the remainder of the season.
Hereford have looked like a strong team at times this season but have not been consistent enough in their results to threaten to push into the top half.

They have managed to put in some decent performances, upsetting third-placed Brimscombe and Thrupp whilst away from home and defeating Tuffley Rovers 9-1, a performance that helped them earn Hellenic League team of the month in October which will provide some optimism for Moon’s players.
Whilst Hereford will be lucky to take points away from the best team in the league in Bishop’s Cleeve, they have shown that they have the potential to come away with a result.
