The visit of top of the table Dartford to Gloucester City will have to wait after this weekends fixture became the latest casualty of the snow.
The Tigers who are now based in Evesham were left with no choice but to postpone the match due to the heavy snowfall in Gloucesteshire. The snow is set to continue throughout the rest of Friday and into Saturday.
Other local teams are also affected, Cheltenham Town’s home game against Notts County has been called off follwoing this morning’s pitch inspection. Gloucester Rugby have asked for volunteers to help clear the stands to ensure their game against Newcastle Falcons can go ahead on Saturday.
Gloucester City have been on a good run losing only once in February which has helped pull them clear of the relegation zone. The Tigers have found it difficult adjusting to life in the National League South but are beginning to find their feet towards the back end of the season. Notable wins against Welling and Wealdstone away from home being paticular bright spots for the Tigers.
The fixture against Dartford will be re-arranged for later on in the season and Gloucester City’s attention will now turn to their upcoming home game against Chippenham Town on Monday however this is also subject to the weather clearing over the weekend.
With bright spells predicted later on in the weekend the Tigers chances of playing at home on Monday are more than just optimistic however the weather has gotten the better of the fixture on Saturday.
