Gloucestershire County Council has all the places on where to look for the latest updates:
Recycling
Due to adverse weather conditions, Household Recycling Centres may be closed. Updates on the availability of the service will be posted on the Recycle for Gloucestershire website: https://www.recycleforgloucestershire.com/
For the availability of Swindon Road Recycling Centre, please check the Cheltenham Borough Council website: https://www.cheltenham.gov.uk/
Roads
Gritters are out making the roads as safe as possible, but as temperatures drop to below freezing, the roads will be slippery, so take care and it is advised to drive with caution.
Find out where to look for up to date information on Gloucestershire’s roads, including a map of where our gritters will be heading: https://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/roads-parking-and-rights-of-way/roads/roads-in-severe-weather/
Gloucestershire County Council has said: “Be a good neighbour today; check in on older relatives, neighbours and friends. Make sure they have food and medicine supplies and are feeling well.”
“People who normally have care in their home might find care visits are delayed because of the difficult travel conditions. If you’re worried about care visits you should contact your care provider directly.”
If you’re worried about someone who is sleeping rough, contact the county’s outreach team via Streetlink or call 0300 500 0914.
During bad weather like this, the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) is enacted which is to provide a safe shelter for anyone who is spending the night outside.
