“It does not matter what you did in the past, it does not matter how many FA cups you have won that’s all-history” Was Darrell Clarke’s assessment ahead of this Saturdays clash against Wigan.
“I work consistently on the next project I don’t worry about the past fixtures against Wigan or any side, we will do are due diligence. We watched a lot of their games, and we have a plan to win the game” Clarke explained in Fridays press conference.
The 46-year-old manager continued “We are fighting to stay in the division they are looking to get out of the division going upwards. The two clubs are totally different on that spectrum, and we are going to have to be right at it if we are to get three points on Saturday”.
Clarke went on to explain “It does not matter that they are in league 1 and rightly so they were not good enough to stay in the championship and they are going to have to show they are good enough to get out of league one again”
The Robins boss feels that Wigan are a lot better than their current league positions shows “Without the points deduction they would be right up there, they aren’t a million mile off now already and no doubt they will be looking to challenge for the top six come the end of the season”
