Jesse Marsch’s sacking came with little surprise to Leeds United supporters following their disappointing defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
The American took charge of 37 games at Elland Road but had not won a Premier League game since October when they beat relegation rivals Bournemouth 4-3.
He left them in 17th place, but caretaker boss Michael Skubala managed an impressive draw with Manchester United on Wednesday to move them upwards in the table.
But the hunt is still ongoing for a new manager, and Park Life Sport has the latest on the search.
What is the latest on Leeds’ manager hunt?
Their first choice candidate has been touted by The Athletic as Andoni Iraoli, who is currently in charge of Rayo Vallecano and has helped them undergo a dramatic transformation.
The Spaniard helped Vallecano to promotion from the Segunda Division in 2021 but now has them sitting in contention for European football this season.
But although the Whites remain keen on the 40-year-old taking charge, talks have stalled between the two parties despite a bid to secure the deal being processed over the past 24-hours.
Director of football Victor Orta reportedly flew to Spain in an attempt to secure the deal but returned to England without an agreement.
Iraoli is believed to be keen on the move but Vallecano are fighting to keep their man at the club.
Meanwhile West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has ruled himself out of the running by signing a new contract at The Hawthorns.
The Baggies’ boss penned a deal until 2027, committing his long-term future at the club amidst speculation linking him with Leeds, the place where he worked under Marcelo Bielsa.

We're delighted to announce @CarlosCorberan has signed a contract extension at The Hawthorns. ✍️
Albion announced the extension on Tuesday night with the Spaniard pleased to secure the deal.
“I have enjoyed my time at Albion, and I am pleased to have secured a contract extension,” he told WBA.co.uk.
“I would like to thank my staff, the players, and our fantastic supporters for their help in making my time here so positive.
“I would also like to thank Ron Gourlay for continuing to show faith in me as a coach.
“I believe that success can only be achieved when everyone works together and the way I have been made to feel welcome at this great club has made me confident that this is the right place for me.
“It is important to me that we do not let this moment distract us from our target, which is to ensure we improve every day, making the team more and more competitive for the challenges ahead.
“My focus is always on earning a positive result in our next game and we are working hard to achieve that at Birmingham City on Friday night.”
Feyenoord’s Arne Slot has also been mentioned amongst the list of candidates for the Elland Road vacancy, but there was an expectation at the Eredivise club that he would not leave mid season.
The Dutchman has guided them to top of the league, knocking giants Ajax off their long-standing perch.
