Michael Flynn is set to welcome back familiar opposition in the FA Cup 3rd round, playing Leicester City in two weeks’ time.
Flynn is excited for the draw as he said: “Always happy getting a Premier League team at home, Brendan Rogers is a brilliant manager, he’s had a brilliant record at Liverpool, amazing at Celtic so he’s someone I’m looking forward to meeting”.

The Walsall boss expressed what the cup can help to do for the club, as he said: “It’s very important because its going to be a sell out and will hopefully encourage more fans to attend week in week out”.
“It’s a fantastic occasion not just for the club but for the community to and something we are really looking forward to”.
Michael Flynn has had a great history with the FA Cup beating the likes of Leeds, Middlesbrough and Leicester themselves, he commented on this saying: ” There’s no secret, we do our research, we make sure we are preforming at our best and need a bit of lady luck”.

Flynn would respond to where this ranks on his list of achievements saying: “Beating a Premier League side is always a huge achievement and there’s quite a few, getting to a Playoff final, the great escape, winning those Fa Cup games”.
“Beating Leeds, Leicester, Boro, Swansea, drawing with Spurs even taking Brighton and Newcastle to penalties, there’s a long list of Championship and Premier League clubs we have caused problems for”.
“All these things add up and it’s fantastic memories I had at Newport but now that’s done and its about creating new ones at Walsall”.
Michael Flynn has also seen a massive upturn in league form as of late winning 8 games in his last 10 in all competitions, the 42 year old was always optimistic about hitting form: “We were playing well even through the sticky patch that we had, I didn’t ever lose faith in what we were doing”.

“We were playing well enough that I was optimistic we were right in the players we brought in and now their together, understanding their roles and responsibilities better so it’s coming to fruition”.
Before their big Fa Cup clash with Leicester, Walsall face off against Tranmere Rovers in League two, Flynn made it clear he’s confident ahead of the game: “Always confident but I respect every opponent, Tranmere are a tough team to play against and a tough place to go, and it’s going to be a battle that if we aren’t at our best we won’t win but if we are we can come away with three points.
Walsall are looking to improve in January with Flynn saying: “I’ve done a few already looking to do a few more, we’ve had a couple lads go out which will allow us to bring some more in”.
“The owners have been fantastic with their support and I really feel we are taking the club in the right direction”
