Blackburn U21’s striker Dom Biniek believes The Blues are “back on track” after a slow start to the season.
The Poland U19’s International has been vital to the U21’s season in terms of squad depth and is “happy” with the team’s recent form being able to bring themselves from “deep ends of the Premier League 2 table” to right above a “strong Manchester United U21’s side.”
Blackburn Rovers U21’s took on Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this week with a Ben Fyles penalty being the decider between the two sides.
Wolves were the team that took early control between the two sides with the first half excellence from Owen Hesketh that deserved a lot more than it got as Jordan Eastham showed his loan experience had benefited him with a quick reaction save.
Wolverhampton continued their dominance in the 27th minute with Tyler Roberts sending over a brilliant cross to Nathan Fraser who could not add to his two goal tally this season
Towards the 35th minute of the game Blackburn showed the glimpse of real quality when experienced youth player Sam Burns carried the ball past two players and teed up a brilliant ball to ex-Liverpool academy player Jared Harlock, but his shot was high and wide.
It was the Blackburn Irishmen Zak Gilesman who got the last shout of the half with a shot from outside the penalty area reverberating off the crossbar.
As the second half began it was Wolves who yet again took control of the game as Oliver Tipton met the end of a corner but again it was standout star Jordan Eastham there to deny the young English midfielder.
However, it was The Wanderers that let themselves down as they gave away a penalty in the 59th minute of the game.
It was Ben Fyles who was given the ball for the spot kick as the youngster hasn’t missed a penalty all season after coming back from a lengthy injury.
He would keep his 100% penalty record after a nice low driven penalty to the right sent Louie Moulden between the sticks the wrong way.
This caused the game to quieten down a lot and Wolverhampton seemed to have gone from a prime passing side to a lot more of a sloppy in possession-based team instead.
It was Blackburn that had their last laugh with a teasing ball in behind by Kristi Montgomery played in Dom Biniek who’s first time effort would hit the post and go out for play but also signal the full-time whistle.
The Poland representative had little to say about the game itself and explained that the team are in “good spirits” and are “looking forward” to a tough clash against Everton as they are “seeking revenge” from there last match up.
