Cheltenham has released its air quality action plan to improve air pollution across Gloucestershire.
Gloucestershire County Council plan to improve the availability of electric vehicle charging points as well as increasing the availability for cleaner, greener transport.
The council has installed new ‘state of the art’ monitoring equipment which will enable even more accurate monitoring of fine airborne particles known as PM 2.5 and PM 10.
Further action points include reviewing the borough’s smoke control zones and ensuring a standard for high air quality in an urban development.
Residents and businesses have been asked to give their views on the new proposed action points in the draft air quality action plan.
The final plan will take all of the feedback into account and will be reported to the Department of Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs (Defra).
