Cheltenham residents voice their fears over employment crisis

Following a recent survey held by the Cheltenham council it was revealed that only 44% of residents felt they have the opportunity to grow their career in Cheltenham. Some people in the town centre have had their say.

47 year old vegetable seller, John, said that he found the national living wage given out by the government to be disgusting and it needs looking at. He said that 10-15 years ago it was a whole lot easier to get a job and receive an acceptable pay.

Going to different retailers many workers have been asked the same question of how difficult it has been to get a job now in contrast to 10 or 15 years ago. Primark worker, Alex, has just moved to the town and has voiced how he feels on the wage he receives and how it would be good to get the same as someone else who lives in a bigger city. He also stated that despite wanted a higher pay he was happy with his job and said that there is a high demand for jobs right now but just wants some help considering the cost of living crisis going on right now.

Overall there is a lot that can be done to help us with the current work predicament but even though people are distressed with how much money they receive.
