Gloucester-Hartpury’s centre Sophie Bridger is excited for what the future holds for Gloucester-side in the Allianz Premier 15s after 53-7 victory against Saracens Women

Gloucester-Hartpury remain unstoppable as they dazzled Saracens Women with a warm 53-7 victory and a half-time bonus point at the StoneX Stadium last Saturday.

After a crowd-pleasing dummy pass, last year’s BUCS champion got herself on the scoresheet once again as she leaped over the whitewash in the first half.

The youngster admitted: “For us, Saracens have always been one of those fixtures where we might come out of it on to but this week, it’s a little bit different.”

Despite Saracens’ reigning title as champion, Hartpury’s head coach Sean Lynn reaps the rewards once again as the Cherry and Whites sit comfortably at the top of the table.

The young centre talked about the excitement that coincides with being a Cherry and Whites player this season after adding another triumph against Premier 15s rival under their belt.

After being named the first try scorer of the 2022/23 season in her Premiership debut, Bridger admits that “it is a really exciting time as the dynamics are changing for the better”.

Amongst Sarries’ numerous penalty giveaways and a yellow card, the Hartpury side took every opportunity to deconstruct the oppositions defence.

With Hartpury’s technical accuracy in the forward’s pack and quick pace in the backline, their momentum has proved to be unstoppable so far in this year’s campaign.

After kick-starting this year’s campaign at the top of the Allianz Premier15s Cup, Bridger admits that the new season set-up has worked wonders for the Gloucester-side’s victories.

She says: “We had a great run through with the Premier 15s Cup and now we’ve cracked on in the Premiership and it’s unreal.”

After the Hartpury-side claimed eight tries against Sarries, they now look towards their next game against bottom of the table DMP Sharks.
