Santiago Carreras starred on Saturday evening for Gloucester as they secured there first victory in 3 matches.
The Argentinian donned the 10 shirt for the first time this season, and the decision paid off.
A try and 14 points off the boot, was enough to steer his side to victory.
Gloucester were able to move back above Northampton into the playoff spots, two points above their opponents.
Jack Singleton got the home side off the mark early after the ever-present Louis Reece-Zammit broke through the Saints defensive line.
England winger Tommy Freeman hit back soon after with two quick fire scores to turn the tables in the away sides favour.
But after a cagey start, Gloucester soon found their rhythm. The fore mentioned Carreras pulled his side around the park, scoring himself before setting up Chris Harris, giving Gloucester a 21-12 lead at half time.
After the break Northampton failed to capitalise on their chances, and when captain Lewis Ludlam was sent to the bin, the game looked out of reach.
Frasier Balmain went over off the back of a driving maul to take the game beyond Saints.
A late consolation from James Ramm was to little to late for Saints as Carreras slotted over the final points of the game to cement his man of the match performance.
Head coach George Skivington was full of praise for Carreras post-match:
“Santi came back and did two days with us last week and we put him at ten, and even through he has been playing for Argentina he hadn’t trained a day at ten for us pre-last week.
“I think this week he has really knuckled down and understood the role from there rathe than deep where he was before.

“We certainly wouldn’t take credit for making Santi a world-class player, he is that.
“He is very, very diligent in what he does and it’s not luck he does. The boys really fed off that.”
