Temperatures will drop below freezing this week, and we may even see snow in some parts of Gloucestershire.
The Met Office says that freezing winds are coming in from the Arctic, which could bring in snow by the beginning of next week.
Rain hasn’t been foreseen in the forecast – it should be dry but very cold.
A level 3 cold weather alert has been issued by the Health Security Agency.
Frost is expected overnight and towards the end of the week, with temperatures as low as -4C being seen in parts of the county.
This trend of cold weather seems likely to continue in the run-up to Christmas, with some rain in the next weeks.
