First-team coach Chris Hicks predicts a ‘difficult’ game against Pucklechurch in FA Women’s trophy despite playing their games in two leagues above.
Pucklechurch play their league games in Division One of the Gloucestershire County Women’s Football League, two leagues below Forest Green Rovers who play in the South West Regional Women’s Football League Premier.
Currently sitting at second in the table, Pucklechurch have won all five games they have played, scoring 17 and are still yet to concede.
They find themselves 10 points behind league leaders Olveston United, however, they have four games in hand.
Looking ahead to Pucklechurch, Forest Green Rovers coach Chris Hicks had this to say:
“We have a cup game, Pucklechurch, it will be a difficult game.
“In the FA Cup they beat Bristol Rovers earlier in the season so we know it’s going to be a tough game, but we will go in prepared and give it our best shot.” Hicks added.
Captain, Hattie Jones, scored a hat trick in Forest Green Rovers impressive 6-0 win against Marine Academy.
Forest Green find themselves at sixth in the South West Regional Women’s Football League Premier, having only won two of their six fixtures.
FGR and Pucklechurch previously met in pre-Season, with the Rovers coming away as winners, however, Pucklechurch will be looking to perform another cup upset ahead of Sunday’s game.
