England Six Nations 2021 team announcement for Scotland clash

Eddie Jones has revealed his starting line up ahead of the 2021 Six Nations opener against Scotland on Saturday.

South African Jones will be looking for his fourth Six Nations title in six years.

The big inclusion into the team is uncapped Beno Obano, who will be the only uncapped man in the matchday 23.

It looks like a simply straightforward setup, with England going for the power of Ollie Lawrence rather than Ford and Farrell.

Centre Lawrence will be making his first start for the defending champions, and will line up alongside Henry Slade.

Saracens Owen Farrell will captain the side, with forwards Jonny Hill and returning flanker Mark Wilson starting as well.

The suspension to Kyle Sinckler provides an opportunity for Will Stuart to make his first Six Nations start at tighthead prop.

“It was difficult to pick the 23 players,” said head coach Eddie Jones.

He added, “we’ve had a really good week of training. It’s been very competitive but I’ve gone with what I feel is the strongest 23 for this week.”

Saturday’s match marks the 150-year anniversary of the sport’s oldest fixture, after the first rugby international was played between the two sides in Edinburgh back in 1871.
