Emma Chamberlain’s incredibly honest podcast series: Anything Goes

If you ask anyone under the age of 25 who they’re reminded of when they picture an almond milk iced latte, they’d probably say Emma Chamberlain. She is easily one of the biggest social media influencers of the next generation, and at just 20 years of age, has an Instagram following of nearly 12 million. The majority of her supporters admire her carefree Californian style outlook and appearing on magazine covers such as Cosmopolitan and New York Times, she’s changed the fashion industry. In a year’s time, headbands, flared yoga pants and UGG boots will be back on trend, trust me. We have Emma Chamberlain to thank for that.

Perhaps most admirable about Emma, is how down to earth she is. Now I know that phrase is grossly overgeneralised, but she really does have something that other influencers are missing, her podcast series is the epitome of that. Each week, a new episode (usually about an hour long) appears, and I marvel at how she always has something fresh and exciting to discuss. No guests, no fancy sponsorship, just 60 minutes of unedited, unfiltered Emma, coughs and splutters included.

There’s absolutely no method to her madness, and anything really does go. Just last week, she’d spent an hour analysing Instagram as an appreciated false reality, following up that conversation with an utterly chaotic ‘my cat is at my door, I also forgot to tell you I had scrambled tofu for breakfast this morning.’

As far as entertainment goes, there’s understandably nothing quite like it. Emma’s staggering follower count is probably a result of the fact everyone is a little bit like her, myself included.

Anything Goes is available on all major streaming platforms.
