Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered a staggering £186,000,000 deal to join the Saudi Pro League after his second tenure as a Manchester United player came to an end last week.
Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr want to sign the 37-year-old after he recently became a free agent.
The Portuguese forward recently parted ways with Manchester United following a controversial interview with television personality Piers Morgan. Ronaldo said that he felt betrayed by the club and that he does not respect the current manager, Erik Ten Haag after how he feels he has been treated.
Should he take up the offer that was proposed by Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo would become one of the highest paid athletes on the planet, surpassing the likes of Tiger Woods, LeBron James and Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo is currently in Qatar captaining his country still on the hunt for the illusive World Cup trophy. He is set to feature in his country’s second group stage match against Uruguay later this evening. During the interview with Morgan, Ronaldo stated that he aims to play two to three more years at the highest level, before retiring from professional football at age 40.
He is playing in his fifth FIFA World Cup, and recently became the first male player ever to score in five World Cup tournaments after Portugual’s 3-2 win over Ghana on Thursday. He did confirm though, that should he lift the trophy in December, that the final would be his last match in the professional game, which would bring an end to what has already been a career full of silverware.
