Gloucestershire will be hoping their overseas signing Andrew Tye can have another key impact – the Australian fast bowler will take on England in the third Twenty20 match of the current Tri-series.
England face Australia at 8:40 (GMT) on Saturday morning, with the Baggy Greens currently on top in the series having overcome both New Zealand and England in the respective series openers.
Tye took impressive figures of 4-23 in Sydney against the Black Caps, this display was clearly influenced by him securing a massive IPL contract worth $1.4 million with the King XL Punjab. On Wednesday he continued his purple patch securing 1-28 as the hosts took down England in Hobart.
Gloucestershire will be delighted to have secured Tye again for the coming season – especially as his current rise has seen his value as a player rise dramatically.
The Big Bash Team of the year was also realised this week with Tye named amongst the XI. The team also saw the inclusion of Sussex fast bowler Jofra Archer and their overseas T20 signing – young Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan. You’ll be able to see these players in action this summer in the recently re-named Vitality Blast.
