The Englishman struggled to get going in the first round of the RBC Heritage and ended on four-over for the day. It was a stark contrast to the heroics he provided at the Masters last weekend, after the 40 year-old hit seven-under on the final day at Augusta, as he finished ten shots off winner Patrick Reed.
It was an incredible final round from Casey, who struggled to replicate his form at the Masters on day one of the Carolina event and is currently 11 shots off leader, Roberto Sabbatini, with the South African on seven-under par. Casey, who is ranked 13th in the PGA tour will be anxiously hoping he improves on the round of 75 he hit yesterday.

Casey’s best moment of the day, was when he hit a wonderful 94-yard approach on the 15th hole, to set up a birdie on the par five. He hit three bogeys on the first seven holes, which gave him an uphill task for the rest of his round – he also hit bogeys on holes 10,12 and 16.

The most recent being Nick Price in 1996.
