The popular TV show Blue Peter has been voted as the best children’s TV show chosen by the Radio Times. Blue Peter has been a family favourite for 6 decades, starting off on BBC and now broadcasted on CBBC.
Blue Peter is the longest running children’s TV show and will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in October this year. The result was found through a poll created by 50 celebrity experts including David Walliams, Phillip Schofield and Noel Edmonds.
The poll shows the top three childrens TV shows with the winner being Blue Peter, in second place Grange Hill and in third place Newsround.
Blue Peter had some memorable moments in the early days of the TV show. John Noakes was the action man of Blue Peter, who was constantly climbing, most memorably Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square without a harness.
Who could forget the moment Lulu the elephant had to go to the toilet on TV!
The TV show receives millions of views per episode and many of its viewers send letters everyday, in hope they’ll receive the famous blue badge.
