Review: Blood and Honey Tattoo Studio – My Experience

Rating: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕

When it comes to tattoos, Cheltenham is certainly not short of options, with plenty of shops distributed in the South-Western town. One of these is the charming Blood and Honey studio. Located at 51 Winchcombe St., this pleasant parlour works honestly, day in and day out, to keep their art fresh, unique, and original. The artists are always upbeat and engaging, without fail, and their work more than proves their capabilities in their field.

To say that I’ve been here a few times is a bit of an understatement, as this shop has tattooed me a total of ten times, each of those pieces being done professionally, with care and ageing well too. Even touch ups, that were rarely needed, were given happily. My ideas and suggestions for my tats have always been executed exactly as I want, even being improved and further detailed in most cases.

For those simply looking for some cool flash pieces to browse, each artist provides their own original collection of self-made designs. These can range from dramatic traditional to more of an ignorant, contemporary style. Either way, they will probably be able to give you what you’re looking for.

The pricing is very reasonable. There are plenty of shops across the country that will charge extortionate amounts for the tiniest, most simple tattoo, but Blood and Honey will always ask a fair, modest sum for their work, no matter what it is. This just adds to the honest and genuine feel that you will get from the team at this shop.  I never feel as though I am getting ripped off or that the artist hasn’t put their very best into a session.

The studio also has a wide array of clothing merchandise for sale, which is a very nice touch. All of these are printed and designed by the artists themselves, and are a perfect extra souvenir from your session, and a great way to represent the shop when you’re out and about.

The decoration of the shop is very impressive, with strong pieces of flash work covering the walls, immediately exposing you to the artists’ creativity as you walk in, along with some amusing satirical signs to ease those pre-appointment nerves.

In a nutshell, Blood and Honey is a friendly, calm, yet engaging environment, where you can feel sure that your tattoo is going to look good and that you’ll have very professional, patient service.
