Can you wear jeans to the Cheltenham races?

When the Cheltenham races are on, people like to dress up smart in their suits with flat caps and do their best impression of the Peaky Blinders. It’s not very common to wear jeans at these events unless paired with smart shoes and an equally smart jacket. Some parts of the racecourse that do have a strict no jeans policy just to keep with the tradition and to keep a sense of the occasion.

Does Cheltenham have a university?

Cheltenham contains 3 campuses for the University of Gloucestershire, the 4th and final campus being in Gloucester. Firstly, there is Park Campus. This is the larger and greener campus in Cheltenham. It’s full of nature and has plenty of places so sit and enjoy the sunshine! The other campus is called Francis Close Hall. This campus is described as being ‘historic’ and having ‘inspiring surroundings’. And finally, Hardwick campus is the campus for creativity and art, which shows through in the style of the buildings.

What does Cheltenham have to offer?

For your main source of entertainment, many would suggest you visit the Brewery Quarter. It has a cinema, bowling alley, indoor adventure golf, escape rooms, soft play for the children and many restaurants.

Is Cheltenham good for walking and cycling?

Most of Cheltenham’s good walks are located on the outskirts of the town almost in the countryside. However due to the size of the town, these are easily accessible and the walk there can easily be incorporated into the walk there. The ‘Devil’s Chimney’ is reviewed as being a “Nice walk with good views of Cheltenham”. Another place for walks is the Crickley Hill Country Park. As for cycle routes, Cheltenham is full of them. There are plenty of routes to Gloucester and in terms of commuting within Cheltenham, there are spacious cycle lanes on the main roads. There is also Pittville Park and is an 82 acre land, perfect for walks! Nearby is also an aviary with birds and rabbits next to a children’s play park.

Is Cheltenham worth visiting?

Most of Cheltenham is housing. However, the main high street is a relaxed place to be if you are after a nice day out. There is a variety of shops and plenty of places to eat, most not too expensive. The lack of roads through the town centre allows it to feel spacious and calm and the small coffee shops are definitely worth a visit
