FA Cup: Actonians LFC Club Chairwoman hits out at gulf between Men’s and Women’s FA Cup prize money

Actonians LFC Club chairwoman Linda Fox hopes the prize money disparity between the men’s and women’s FA Cup will continue to narrow following Actonians’ 3-1 win over Ashford United LFC in the Women’s FA Cup Second Round yesterday afternoon.

Actonians’ victory sees the club receive a nice sum of £8,000 but for their male counterparts they will receive almost eight times more than that with a staggering £67,000 for the same feat.

“Even with the prize money increase this season, the gap is still huge! I really hope this continues to narrow and that the smaller independent clubs like ours can really benefit from that”, Actonians LFC Club chairwoman Linda Fox told Park Life Sport.

Actonians LFC now have the possibility of facing a side two leagues above them as the Barclays Women’s Championship teams join tonight’s draw.
