- Take a trip to the theatre
Head to the Everyman for a performance of the critically-acclaimed show ‘Birdsong’. Marking the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, it’s an enthralling tale of love and courage enjoyed by over 200,000 people on its previous sold-out show. Buy your tickets here.
2. Cheer on Gloucester at Kingsholm
Saturday will see Gloucester take on the Wasps in the Aviva Premiership. Following Gloucester’s disappointing game against Worcester last weekend, Coach Ackermann has promised a strong match as they kick off at 2:30pm.
3. Enjoy a fizzy Friday
Popular restaurant The Daffodil is offering a second bottle of champagne or prosseco for just £1 on every Friday in February – and we couldn’t be more thrilled. What better way to end the week?
4. Enjoy the sound of folk music
The very first Gloucester Folk Trail hits the town this weekend, playing traditional and contemporary folk music completely free of charge. Full line up and venues can be found here.
5. Go and watch the opera
Pop-Up Opera are showing Hansel and Gretel on Friday night at Cheltenham Ladies’ College. Sung in German but with ‘silent movie’ captions in English, it’s set to be a wonderful evening bringing Humperdink’s characters to life.
Whatever it is you get up to this weekend – have fun!
