“We have to look at our own situation” – Bishops Cleeve manager Paul Collicutt speaks ahead of their home game against Willand Rovers

Bishops Cleeve’s upcoming game is against Willand Rovers at home and a win puts them in a very good position.

Manager Paul Collicutt will be going into the game with high expectations.

“I always look forward to a game of football, whether on a Saturday afternoon, Tuesday or Wednesday evening.

“I ask a lot from my players from 3:00 o’clock to 10 to five on a Saturday, and from quarter to eight to quarter to 10 on a Tuesday or Wednesday night.

“I always go into every game with the intention to win.”

Collicutt then went on to outline the opponents, and how they can put up a fight against the Mitres.

“We’re going into a weekend now where we have a home game against a team that I know will make life very difficult for us in Willand Rovers, but they do have quite a journey to come.

“We’ve already played them before in the FA Trophy at their place so we know what they’re like.

“I know the manager pretty well so I know how well he can do with the team and how difficult they can make it for us.”

Bishops Cleeve also welcomed in new signing James Harding to the squad today.

Collicutt briefly touched on the signing.

“We got the deal done today and he’s ready to go and play tomorrow against Willand.

“He will come into the squad and strengthen the attack.

“We will wait and see though, he comes into the squad as a good lad and a good record so we will just have to see how he gets on.”

The Cleeve boss then finished off by talking about the teams around them in the table.

However, Collicutt didn’t want his team to focus on other teams too much.

“We have to look at our own situation, everyone around us is getting results against each other except Yate up at the top,

“However we do have games in hand on some teams above us, but then some teams have games in hand below us so it’s best to just focus on ourselves.

“A result tomorrow and some losses elsewhere could make life very interesting.”
