Jonny Clayton and Gerywn Price will make a much anticipated Cardiff homecoming alongside the sports finest this evening as the 2022 Premier League Darts begins tonight.

Clayton, who won the competition last year, will be looking to start how he left off against Joe Cullen in the first game of the evening.

It will be a repeat of the 2022 World Championship as Peter Wright faces Michael Smith, with Bully Boy hoping to rectify his Ally Pally performance against the Scotsman.
Smith missed out on the competition last year, and will be looking to lift the trophy for the first time, getting closest in 2018 when he lost in the final to Michael van Gerwen.
MVG will be looking to bounce back from a COVID ridden World Championships, when a positive test meant he was forced to withdraw from the competition.

He starts off his Premier League campaign against Gary Anderson, as the Dutchman looks to clinch his sixth title in the competition, which would match Phil Taylor’s record six wins.
Anderson has got two Premier League wins under his belt, however doesn’t boast a very good head to head record when it comes to playing van Gerwen.
There will be a new format for this years tournament compared to previous years, with there now being 16 individual knockout tournaments before the playoffs in night 17.
The change implemented by the PDC imposes a whole new look on the competition, with players being used to playing in a round robin system.
