WATCH: UOG Hockey forward Ryan Ford reacts after last week’s Cup win over Exeter

The University of Gloucestershire’s Men’s Hockey team completed an unbeaten season in the BUCS Western League after beating Bristol University to win the league title.

UOG won the match convincingly 8-1 as they finished the season winning all seven games that they competed in.

After reigning supreme over their competitors in the league, the Men’s Hockey side will be looking to progress in cup competitions.

Exeter 6ths were the latest team to lose to UOG in the Western Conference Cup last Wednesday and despite two late sinbins for Gloucestershire, they ran out comfortable 4-1 winners.

Forward Ryan Ford spoke after the game and felt it was the biggest challenge he’s faced this season.

“We weren’t expecting an easy game because we knew that Exeter were going to bring some of their better players.

“But obviously we had a good attacking force, a good defence and it was probably the most challenging game we’ve had all season,” said Ford.
