Following the Qatar World Cup, Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has called time on his international career.
His final game for France came in the World Cup final, where his French side were beaten on penalties.
He managed a total of 145 games for France over a 14-year spell, captaining a record 121 for ‘les bleus’.
His debut came in a 0-0 draw with Uruguay in a friendly in 2008, when he played his club football at Lyon.
During the Qatar World Cup, there were questions over Lloris’ ability to keep the number 1 jersey in the national team, with some supporters calling for Mandanda to take his place instead, who is 37.
Legacy codeHe remains Spurs’ number 1, having played every game of the last two Premier League season.
Lloris’ deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium expires in the summer of 2024.
