The ‘Flying Scotsman’ takes on Cheltenham

Darts legend Gary Anderson is set to appear at Cheltenham’s Selco Builders Warehouse this Tuesday where fans get the chance to test their talents against the two time world champion. 

Anderson, who currently sits 20th in the PDC rankings, will be appear at the builders merchants from 9:30 am to 11:00 am where fans won’t only get the opportunity to meet the World Cup winner but go head- to- head with him in a special nine dart challenge with prizes up for grabs, including tickets for PDC events. 

Anderson, one of the most well received figures in the sport, spoke about coming to the Cheltenham Selco branch “it’s always great to get out and meet the fans and I’m looking forward to having some fun at Selco Cheltenham on Tuesday.”

He later went on to joke “It’s a very busy time in the darting calendar between now and the end of the year, so it will be a useful bit of extra practice for me too.”

The eight time PDC major title winner is renowned for his heavy scoring and having one of the smoothest throws, the former world number one and back-to-back world champion has defeated all time greats of the game including Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor and Michael Van Gerwen.

The buzz is certainly growing around town and fans are reported to be booking tickets already for the event next Tuesday.

Alison Wong, head of communications and sustainability at Selco, reassured fans however “There is no need for people planning to attend to book a place. Just come to the branch between 9.30am and 11am on Tuesday morning and enjoy the chance to not only meet Gary but also take him on in a darting challenge.”
