The Experience of a university student at the Theatre of dreams from Midweek Premier League clash

Manchester United faced Chelsea on Wednesday night under the lights at Old Trafford which the Red Devils won 2-1 to send them up to sixth in the table.

The Experience of a Manchester United game is meant to be mind and magical at the theatre of dreams but the atmosphere in the stadium was disappointing and you could probably find better atmospheres at League One’s games.

It was a massive game for both teams to kick start their seasons but the atmosphere in and around the ground was low.

Outside the ground was filled with people who weren’t United fans so the atmosphere outside Old Trafford was quiet and packed with people taking photos outside the iconic statue of Sir Alex Ferguson and the trio of George Best, Sir Bobby Charlton, and Dennis Law.

After around 15 minutes to kick off the ground was at least half full, but it filled up quickly when the players started to walk out of the tunnel.

The Chants that went around the ground were different but were repetitive from both sets of fans, The main ones were “CHELSEA CHELSEA CHELSEA” and Man United sang their spin-off The Twelve Days of Christmas to The 12 Eric Cantona’s.

The match was an open game with the game being like a basketball game going back and forth but Manchester United looked the better team throughout leading to their win.

The Red Devils fans were in full voice for Scott Mctominay and Harry Maguire who have copped a lot of abuse from the United fans over recent times which was surprising.

The streets around Old Trafford were filled with different types of supporters from die-hard Manchurians to tourists who came to visit Old Trafford instead of watching the game.

The Pubs were packed especially the bishop Blaize, which is known for a great atmosphere around kick-off, as it was a night game this intensified the atmosphere in the pub as people were able to have a couple of drinks and create a tough atmosphere for the Chelsea players and supporters.

The United fans probably didn’t create the best atmosphere they were hoping for as the atmosphere in the ground was quite disappointing and didn’t live up to the expectations which are perceived.

Sir Matt Busby’s way was filled with not just supporters but also loads of food fans which were overpriced for the quality of food you were getting but you pay the price because it is easier and efficient for everyone instead of eating beforehand or finding somewhere nicer to eat.

As a neutral, you would feel disappointed and let down if you paid the price for the ticket which they charged because the atmosphere in the ground wasn’t the best in the league even if the United fans say so and the Chelsea were nonexistent until they scored.

The experience out the ground was different and filled with different types of people from diehard fans to people who didn’t care about the outcome and were just there from the experience.
