The Cheltenham Civil Service look unbeatable as Cheltenham Indoor Cricket League means cricket carries on through winter

It may now be outside of the cricket season, but Display Refrigeration Hire LTD Cheltenham Indoor Cricket League is just beginning with Cheltenham civil service CC starting strongly as defending champions.

Geoff Trett one the leagues independent scorers painted Cheltenham civil service A as “very much the team to beat” “stating there’s no same in losing to them”.

Trett argued that there were so dominant that although it may be possible to win an isolated game against them, it would be very surprising if they don’t win the league”.

The winners of the league then go onto play a national competition, with Cheltenham civil service previously getting through to the regional finals, representing the best eight teams in the country.

University of Gloucestershire started off with a heavy loss against last year’s winners, before a comfortable win of their own against Winchcombe CC.

University of Gloucestershire’s next game will be a tough challenge against currently unbeaten Chalton King’s who have started the season well.

Cheltenham CC started very poorly losing their first game to Charlton Kings which would make any challenge to civil service now very unlikely.

Despite their first loss Cheltenham since did go on to beat Ullenwood Bharat CC by 5 wickets in a dominant win.

But Cheltenham will truly be tested as they take on Civil service next game and will truly test there quality as they look to cause an upset.

Trett made it clear that within the west-country the Cheltenham Indoor League was definitely one of the strongest, stating that “nine times out of 10 it’s the winners of the Cheltenham league who progress”.

Whoever wins the league will then play go into a county playoff against the winner of the Gloucester and Bristol counterparts of the league.

Following that there are two games regionally, followed by the two games nationally the last of which is the final.

The final after 5 knockout games is then in the Lord’s indoor school of cricket, where the winners the previous year were the University of Kent.

The Indoor cricket league consists of four divisions of six teams who will play each other 12 times before the top side plays the national competition.

Each team has 6 players and the games last 12 overs using indoor cricket balls for the tournament where the ball will swing a lot.

When it comes to Cheltenham, cricket does not stop over the winter with all four of their division having now kicked off.

All the games in the Cheltenham have the use of a purpose-built indoor cricket pitch where the games are being played.
